CLOVERDALE -- It is time for the annual Putnam County Toy Drive. This year Cloverdale and South Putnam student council are teaming up with the Cloverdale and North Putnam FFA chapters to host this event.

The groups kicked off the toy drive Wednesday evening with the help of Marie Leach, representative of Return a Gift.

The collections for the annual Toy Drive will take place until Thursday, Dec. 6, which will also be the morning of the Toy Drive Give Away held at Cloverdale High School from 9 a.m. -- 5 pm.

All schools will be collecting toys both new and slightly used, stuffed animals, books, gloves, hats as well as cash donations. If you are interested in helping out with this community project, please drop off donations at North Putnam, South Putnam or Cloverdale High Schools as well as various drop off points throughout the community.

To receive two wrapped gifts, two books, a stuffed animal, hat, and a pair of gloves, they ask to bring the child's Health Wise cards or a tax return showing the children as dependents.

It is expected that the program will serve more than 500 children and give them a brighter Christmas.
