Toy drive to benefit milk and cookies with Santa effort

ROACHDALE -- The organizers of the milk and cookies with Santa event set for next month in Roachdale will be conducting a toy drive at the Greencastle Walmart from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. today.

All toys collected Saturday will go to kids participating in the Saturday, Dec. 8 event, which is presented free of charge.

The event is free to all children and runs from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Roachdale Christian Church fellowship hall. Festivities will include games, face painting, clowns, goodie bags and a new toy for each child.

The highlight of the day will be the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus on a firetruck.
