ROCKVILLE -- A Parke County logging accident Tuesday afternoon claimed the life of a Greencastle man and injured a Greencastle teenager.

According to a Parke County Sheriff's Department media release, Terry L. Branham, 59, and Cody Leak, 18, both of Greencastle, were cutting trees Tuesday afternoon in the southeastern portion of Parke County.

Reportedly, Branham was cutting one tree, which fell onto another tree, causing it to fall on top of him.

Branham was pronounced dead at the scene.

The falling tree also struck a third tree, which landed on Leak, the report stated.

Leak was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis via LifeLine emergency medical helicopter.

Sources said Wednesday that Leak had been treated and released from the hospital.
