Local grad to play in national championship

SALEM, Va. -- North Putnam graduate Hank Spencer will make an appearance on national television tonight.

Spencer is a starting linebacker for the University of Mount Union football team.

The Purple Raiders are playing in the NCAA Division III national championship game against the University of St. Thomas.

Spencer graduated early from North Putnam to play spring ball for the Purple Raiders.

The game kicks off at 7 p.m. and will be televised on ESPNU.

ESPNU is channel 24 for Metronet subscribers and channel 511 for Comcast subscribers.
