Senior Moment

Thursday, December 20, 2012
DePauw University senior forward Barry Flynn shakes hands with Ila Reeves of Greencastle, one of several senior citizens taking advantage of DePauw basketball hospitality Wednesday afternoon during Senior Citizen Day at Neal Fieldhouse. As the Tigers' starting lineup was introduced, each player ran over and shook hands with senior citizens in attendance, also including William Eggers (left) and Gerald and Susie Carpenter (at right), all from Greencastle. The Tigers appeared properly inspired by their experienced guests, ending a three-game losing streak by demolishing Kalamazoo College, 76-46. A second such Senior Citizen Day effort is scheduled for the 3 p.m. Jan. 5 game vs. Hiram College.

  • Thanks to DePauw, the Athletic Department, Coach Fenlon and the Men's Basketball team for holding this event.

How about having a Putnam County Day to see great Men's and Women's college basketball games. Fill the gym!
