Monday, January 7, 2013

The Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its annual dinner for Saturday, Jan. 26 at the DePauw University Indoor Tennis and Track Facility.

The evening will begin with a social hour, which is sponsored by Duke Energy, from 6-7 p.m.

Drinks, appetizers and bidding on silent auction items will take place during the social hour. The silent auction is sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College.

Deejay Jim "Figgy" Hardwick, who is being sponsored by Hendricks Power Cooperative and Parke County REMC, will be providing musical entertainment. Couples and groups can also have their professional photos taken by Amber Bowers of Amber Bowers Photography.

The buffet dinner, which is sponsored by North Salem State Bank, will begin at 7 p.m. The meal is being prepared by DePauw Catering Services.

Following the dinner, Beau Battin, the outgoing 2012 Chamber president, will speak as well as introduce the new 2013 incoming Chamber president, who will discuss the Chamber's upcoming year.

There will also be the announcement of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors member of the Year, and of course the big finale, the announcement of the 2012 Putnam County Citizen of the Year Award.

Corporate sponsors for this year's dinner are: Asbury Towers Retirement Community, Bittles and Hurt/Hopkins-Rector funeral homes, Co-Alliance LLP, Collins-Evans Real Estate, Crown Equipment Corp., Cunningham Insurance, DePauw University, Dixie Chopper, Duke Energy, First Financial Bank, First National Bank, Greencastle Hometown Dental, HBG Insurance & Bonds Inc., Heartland Automotive LLC, Heather Taylor State Farm Insurance, Hendricks Power Cooperative, HMSB Insurance, Ivy Tech Community College, McDonald's, MetroNet, North Salem State Bank, Old National Bank, Parke County REMC, PNC Bank, Teachers Credit Union, University Lending, Wabash Capital, Walmart Distribution Center and York Automotive Family.

Table sponsors are also being sought for the event for $35 per table. Anyone sponsoring a table will get an on-table acknowledgement and a special mention in the event program. You do not have to attend the dinner to be a table sponsor.

The Chamber is also still accepting silent auction donations, asking that the items be valued at $75 or more. Each business will get special signage and acknowledgment for donating to the silent auction.
