County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Rolland Corey Alexander Jacobson, 20, Cloverdale, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs.

* At 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Bradley Branneman, 45, Cloverdale, was charged with a probation violation and nonsupport of a dependent.

* At 3:02 p.m. on Tuesday, Thomas Jefferson, 39, Greencastle, was charged with contempt of court.

* At 4:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Billy Lee Jones, 37, Cloverdale, was booked in on a probation violation.

* At 10:19 p.m. on Wednesday, Nicholas Perry Burdine, 28, Roachdale, was charged with violation of home detention.

* At 9:46 a.m. on Thursday, Athena Rae Siddons, 29, Poland, 29, was charged with contempt of court.

* At 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, Johannah Marie Kellie, 22, Roachdale, was booked in on a warrant for theft of motor vehicle, check forgery and a probation violation.

* At 1 a.m. on Friday, Jana Ann Smith, 20, Gosport, was booked in on a probation violation.

* At 3:30 a.m. on Friday, Ronald Lee Evans, 39, Indianapolis, was charged with two counts of operating while intoxicated.

Sheriff's Department

* At 11:06 a.m. on Sunday, July 7, Jasmine D. Like, 21, Greencastle was driving east on County Road 125 South when a deer ran in front of her 2003 Volkswagen Beetle.

She stated to Deputy Adam Hull that she turned her wheel to avoid hitting the animal, but lost control and began to slide. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a telephone pole on the driver's side door.

Like was seen by Operation Life, but signed a release form.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 1:42 a.m. on Thursday, Matthew S. Huffman, 38, Greencastle, was eastbound on Albin Pond Road when a deer ran into his path.

Huffman swerved his 2006 Ford Crown Victoria to miss the deer, but was unable to avoid a collision.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.
