Putnam library hosting Potter party July 20

Magical, mystical musings ensue; rumor of a Harry Potter book release party are true! The Putnam County Public Library will host a book release party for the seventh and final book in the series "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" by J. K. Rowling.

With only three more weeks to go until the highly anticipated release at midnight on Saturday, July 21, library staff is busy preparing for the event to begin at 10 p.m. Friday, July 20. Muggles -- young and old -- are invited to come in costume to sample delectable treats, worthy of a visit to Honeydukes sweet shop. Guests will also enjoy Harry Potter trivia games and related craft activities. There will be a contest for best adult costume and best children's costume, so come dressed as your favorite Harry Potter character. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening. The party is being sponsored by Feld's Carpet One and the Friends of the Library to help transform the library into Hogsmeade for an evening of fantasy and fun!
