Betty Louise Lear, 80, Indianapolis, formerly of Greencastle, died Sunday evening at St. Vincent Hospital.

Born in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Ralph R. and Clara (Pifer) Crawley.

She had retired from Putnam County Hospital as a medical records librarian. She was also a member of the Mother's Study Club for many years.

She married Warren Bo Lear on May 18, 1950. He died Sept. 10, 2001.

Surviving are two sons, Rich Lear and wife Patti, Fishers, and William Lear and wife Claudette, Kendallville; a daughter, Anne Lear, Indianapolis; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Timothy Lear.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Paul Bowen officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
