Gerald "Jerry" McKinney

Gerald "Jerry" McKinney, 62, Greencastle, died Monday at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born in Indianapolis, he was the son of Leroy McKinney and Pauline (Zavala) McKinney.

He attended Manuel High School in Indianapolis and on Jan. 12, 1968 he married Judy (Viers) McKinney.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he had been a Teamster truck driver for more than 30 years, and also worked at Black's Lumber Co. in Greencastle until his illness.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union local 135 and the Moose Lodge 1592, Greencastle.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Eric McKinney and wife Renee, Carmel, and Dustin McKinney, Greencastle; three daughters, Kim Bragg, Greencastle, Rene McKinney, Brazil, and Tina Graham and husband Scott, Greencastle; a brother, Ross Miller and wife Kathy, Indianapolis; a stepmother, Phyllis McKinney, Indianapolis; two stepsisters, Sharon and Karen; a stepbrother, Terry and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.

Visitation is set for 4-8 p.m. Thursday with a Moose Lodge Memorial walk-through at 7 p.m.
