John C. Miner, 73, Greencastle, died Monday.

Born in Cass County, he was the son of Chester Albert and Marcia Isabelle (Conn) Miner.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a graduate of Ball State University. He retired from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis where he had taught history, earth sciences and served in administration. He was a member of First Christian Church, Indiana Retired Teachers Association, Arsenal Technical Retired Teachers Association and Putnam County Retired Teachers Association.

He married Patricia M. Jarrett on July 12, 1953. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Jody Smith and husband Brian, Greencastle, Jackie Buttram and husband David, Danville, and John A. Miner and wife Monica, Sedalia, Mo.; a sister, Marcia Harmon and husband Jeff, Indianapolis; a brother James Miner and wife Lucy, Wolf Lake; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

A memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22 at First Christian Church, 110 S. Indiana St., Greencastle.
