Virginia C. Proctor, 77, Greencastle, died Sunday at Putnam County Hospital.

Born in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Donald and Helen (White) Clifford.

She was a graduate of Fillmore High School, and had been a cook for several years at DePauw University, as well as a nursing assistant at Putnam County Hospital.

She was a member of Bainbridge Christian Church, and volunteered for several civic organizations.

Surviving are her husband, Eldon E. Proctor; son Ron Proctor and wife Jody, Greencastle; daughters Cathy Proctor, Greencastle, and Vicky Proctor, Plainfield; brothers Bob Brant and wife Thaisa, Hobart, Jack Clifford and wife Charlene, and Jim Clifford and wife Nancy, both of Bainbridge; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chandler-Hayes Funeral Home, Greencastle, with burial in Brick Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
