Damita Rae Lyon, 73, Greencastle, Wednesday at Putnam County Hospital.

Born in Clay County, she was the daughter of Sherman R. and Ruby V. (Belk) Nichols.

She attended school in Brazil.

On February 20, 1953 she married Kenneth M. Lyon. He survives.

Also surviving are children, Kenny W. Lyon and wife Dana, Greencastle, Kennetta E. Nuckols and husband George, Brazil, and Karen K. Pingleton and husband Phil, Greencastle; sisters Carol Bussing, Center Point, Angela Parkins and husband Jerry, Tennessee, Nikki Yocom and husband Joe, Janet Riddell and husband George, and Cindy Hedges, all of Brazil; brothers, Sherman W. Nichols and wife Caroline, Brazil, and Marion R. Nichols and wife Paula, Princeton; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, stepfather and stepmother.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at French Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Small officiating. Burial will follow in Croys Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and prior to services Saturday.
