Thomas L. Lawson Sr., 59, Danville, died Wednesday at his residence.

Born in New Straitsville, Ohio, he was the son of Julian and Pearl (Glennaman) Lawson.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, he had been owner of Indian Oaks Campground in Quincy for 11 years, retiring in 2006. He was previously a foreman at Allison Division of General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of Charles F. Frank Masonic Lodge 760 in Zionsville, a life member of Lebanon VFW, a past member of Whitestown American Legion, and current member of American Legion in Spencer.

He married Donna Herrmann on Dec. 4, 1976. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Crissy Lough and husband Scott, Thorntown; three sons, Thomas Lewis Lawson Jr. and wife Kristen, Chandler, Ariz., Jason A. Tunnell and wife Natalie, Indianapolis, and Jeremiah Lawson and wife Maren, Clayton; sister Sarah Kennedy; and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sisters Linda Lawson and Beverly Spangler.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Conkle Funeral Home, Avon, with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery, Lebanon.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday.
