Dorothy R. Stickle, 98, Greencastle, died Wednesday at her residence in Asbury Towers.

Born in Rockville, she was the daughter of Joseph Carl and Maud (Seller) Rutter.

A 1926 graduate of Bridgeton High School, she was a 1930 graduate of DePauw University and had been a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.

She had been a high school teacher at several Indiana high schools, and was active in church and community activities. She was a member of Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church and Chapter I of P.E.O., Greencastle.

She married Samuel Dark Stickle on Nov. 3, 1934. He died Oct. 4, 1976.

Surviving are a great-nephew, Gary Hill, Concorde, Ohio.

A memorial service is set for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. P. T. Wilson and Rev. Brad Tharpe officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gobin Church Endowment Fund, 307 Simpson St., Greencastle, 46135, or the P.E.O. Foundation, Chapter I, Greencastle.

Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, is assisting with arrangements.
