Garrett A. Snodgrass, 89, Gainesville, Fla., died Sunday.

Born in Clinton County, he married Evelyn Courtney on April 1, 1944. She survives.

He worked simultaneously at General Motors and as a business owner of Gary's Variety Store, Roachdale, before retiring to Florida in 1982.

He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Fort Clark, Fla.

He is survived by his wife, sons Chris Snodgrass, Gainesville, Fla., Ron Snodgrass, San Antonio, Texas, and Jim Snodgrass, Cary N.C.; sister Vangel Johnson, Carmel; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Miles.

Services will took place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church, Fort Clark, Fla., with Pastor Denny Heiberg officiating. World Cremation Service of Florida is handling arrangements.
