Richard Smith, 85, Cambridge, Ohio, died Friday at his residence.
Born in Cambridge, he was the son of Denver K. and Clarice M. (Deeren) Smith.
He was a retired Assembly of God minister after 25 years of service and attended Faith United Methodist Church. He was a member of the American Legion, and a graduate of Cambridge High School and Mt. Vernon Bible College. He was a U.S. Army veteran with five Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.
He married Leona Annabelle Harper, who died Oct. 19, 1984.
Surviving are two sons, Gerald Smith and wife Kathy, Braselton, Ga., and Jonathan Smith, Cambridge; a daughter, Dana McCullough, Greencastle; brother Denver K. Smith Jr., Pleasant City, Ohio; two sisters, Patricia Harding, Irvine, Calif., and Marjorie Sharpnack, Cambridge; six grandchildren, eight grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister Louis Wisenbarger.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Senecaville, Ohio, with Rev. Mick Foster officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Pleasant City, Ohio.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday.
