Garland 'John' W. Rasdall, 84, Trafalgar, died Monday at Franklin Meadows, Franklin.

Born in Warren County, Ky., he was the son of the late James G. and Bette A. (Easton) Rasdall.

He was a 1941 graduate of Center Grove High School.

He was a farmer in Marion and Johnson counties from 1941-99. He was a 4-H leader in Trafalgar in 1954, was a member of the Johnson County Fair Association for 16 years and was the fairgrounds superintendent for 14 years. He helped start the Johnson County Horse and Pony Club and served as its treasurer for several years. He was a 50-year 4-H leader, past president of the Brown County Water Company for two years during the 1970s, served as vice-president of the Johnson County Farm Bureau for two years and on its board of directors for 34 years. He also served on the Trafalgar School and Indian Creek Schools FFA Advisory Board. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church and served as a Sunday School Superintendent, deacon, elder and on the board of directors.

He married Wilma P. Schroeder on Oct. 25, 1945 in Indianapolis. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Janet Haste and husband Kenneth, Trafalgar; a son, Norman Gregory and wife Elaine, Cloverdale; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Helen Lewis, Mabel Mozee and Clyde Garris; and three brothers, Harry, Leslie and Buford Rasdall.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation and Personal-ization Center, 179 E. Mullberry St., Morgan-town, with Rev. Ron Hoffman officiating. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery, Morgantown.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
