3 win $1,000 from 'Dream'

Three endowment funds received an extra $1,000 each in the Putnam County Community Foundation's annual Share the Dream program conducted April 15 through Aug. 15, 2006.

Out of the 30 charitable endowments participating this year, the winners are the Greencastle High School Alumni Scholarship Fund, the Rokicki Foundation Fund, and the Joyce Braden Preschool/Camping Fund for Greencastle Baptist Church.

Receiving honorable mention were The Russellville Community Center Endowment, the Robert H. Farber Fund for Education, and the Purdue Club of Putnam County Scholarship Fund.

Every year, the Community Foundation's Share the Dream Program provides a tool for organizations to raise money as well as provides the opportunity to recognize a special person in the BannerGraphic.

This year, 41 people were memorialized, and 33 were honored, and participants raised $41,842 for charitable projects in the community.

The Putnam County Community Foundation is a nonprofit public charity established in 1985 to administer funds established by donors, award grants, and provide leadership, enriching the quality of life and strengthening community in Putnam County.
