Fort Myers, Fla. -- The DePauw University women's tennis doubles team of Erin Andrade and Connie Shim lost in the first round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Championship at Florida Gulf Coast University.

Lauren Hom and Maria Menne from Gustavus Adolphus defeated Andrade and Shim 7-6 (3), 6-0.

Andrade and Shim will now face Trinity's Alicia Hunt and Grace Hackett on Friday.

DePauw womens' team ranked

The DePauw women's cross country team are ranked 21st in the Division III Coaches' Poll.

The Tigers recently placed second at the Border Wars Invitational. The cross country team is the third-highest ranked Great Lakes Region school behind Denison and Calvin.

Williams in ranked No. 1 in Division III.

DePauw mens' team ranked

The DePauw mens' cross country team is currently ranked 17th in Division III.

The Tigers are coming off a first-place finish at the Border Wars Invitational. DePauw is the second-highest ranked Great Lakes Region school behind top-ranked Calvin.

DePauw competes in the Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Marks named Offensive Player of the Week

DePauw running back Jeremiah Marks was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Offensive player of the Week after his performance against Sewanee.

Marks set the school's single-game record for rushing touchdowns, total points in a game, with five rushing touchdowns Saturday against Sewanee. Marks also tied the SCAC single-game record for rushing touchdowns.

Marks had 28 carries for 161 yards in DePauw's 34-0 route of Sewanee.
