It was during his sophomore season when he decided to break every wrestling record that South Putnam has, now he is one step closer.

On Thursday, Bo Jackson clinched his 100th career win, becoming the first wrestler in school history to ever win 100 matches.

"It feels pretty good," Jackson said. "Coach (Scott Miller) has really pushed me all the way through.

"I had the record last year and this year it my goal to break 100," Jackson said.

Jackson's coach might have pushed him a lot of the way, but SPHS Coach Scott Miller knows who is behind Jackson's achievements.

"It's a real testament of how hard he works," Miller said. "I don't know if he is a natural athlete, but he has gotten where he is by his hard work."

Along with earning his 100th win, Jackson also grabbed his second Super Six individual championship Thursday afternoon. Jackson has won three Putnam County Championships and three West Central Conference Championships in his career. And he has no plans on stopping.

Jackson said his next goal is to finish breaking the rest of the wrestling records at South Putnam, but it's not for the fame.

"This is my last year and I said 'why not I hold most of them,'" Jackson said. "Hopefully, after me, someone will come along and break my records and use them to push themselves along.

"I started planning all of this my sophomore year. Our team hasn't been winning many county and conference championships. I decided to break the records to help set an example for everybody," Jackson said.

Miller might not know if Jackson's is a natural athlete, but he does know how hard he works.

"He really works hard at what he does and he earned this today," Miller said. "We're proud of him for sticking with it."
