Lois Justine Smith

Lois Justine Smith, 80, Greencastle, died Wednesday at her residence.

Born in Bluffton, she was the daughter of Jesse LeRoy and Verga Pauline (Smeltzer) Elzey.

A graduate of P.A. Allen High School in Bluffton, she was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Bluffton. She had resided in Greencastle for 52 years.

She married James M. Smith on Sept. 1, 1946. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sandra Kay Mackintosh and husband james, Noblesville, and Cynthia Sue Deem and husband Gary, Danville, Ill.; a sister, Phyllis L. Foster and husband Robert, Fort Wayne; a brother, Lowell Elzey and wife Sue, Bluffton; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, five stepgreat-grandchildren and six step great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wayne Elzey, sister Marciele Adams, and a grandson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Verl Winslow officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time Friday.
