Fillmore pastor signing new book Wednesday

Tuesday, November 28, 2006

Local author and pastor Bobby D. Hopper will sign copies of his first book, "Win, Build and Send: Preparing to Live a Truly Great Life in Christ," from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday at Hadley Christian Bookstore, 45 Putnam Plaza, Greencastle.

"We've had some wonderful reviews," Hopper said via telephone interview Tuesday. "It makes people think. It's actually a book where you could finish up in a day or two."

Copies of the book will be available Wednesday at the book signing.

Hopper serves as pastor at Fillmore Christian Church, where he has been for the past four years. He has 14 years experience as a pastor and is a native of Houston. He describes himself as "passionate about leader others to great lives in Christ."

He has a master's degree in theology, and is married with two children.

Fillmore Christian Church Elder Mark Scott said the book "is not just another formula to grow your church's numbers. It is a challenge to each of us to grow in our personal relationship with Jesus Christ."

Dr. Landi Halloran, a physician with Putnam Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at Putnam County Hospital, said "In this book, I feel Pastor Bobby is speaking directly to me. His message often fills my eyes with tears as I relate it to my life in Christ."

Hopper will also make an appearance at Fine Print Bookstore in Greencastle from 11-12:30 p.m. Saturday and will be at Open Door bookstore in Terre Haute on Saturday, Dec. 9.

On Saturday, Dec. 16, he will conduct a book signing at Family Christian Bookstore in Plainfield.

The book is published by Xulon Press, the world's largest Christian publisher, with more than 2,700 titles published to date.
