GHS girls fall to Thunderbirds

FARMERSBURG -- The Greencastle girls basketball team fell to 0-7 on the season with a loss to North Central Saturday, 50-34.

Greencastle trailed 23-18 at the half and by 11 at the end of the third quarter. The Tiger Cubs tried to mount a charge but ultimately fell short to the Thunderbirds.

The Greencastle squad was led in scoring by Lauren Robertson with nine points and Grace Fisher contributed eight points.

The North Central Thunderbirds were lead by Jocelyn Boyll with 12 points and Maria Drake chipped in 10 points.

Greencastle shot a disappointing 11-of-65 from the floor. Greencastle had 11 field goals and went 12-of-23 from the charity stripe. North Central charted 18 field goals, two three-pointers, and 8-17 from the line.

The junior varsity also played Saturday, but results were not known at press time.

Greencastle (0-7) will next host Danville tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m.
