Greencastle wrestlers drop four at Zionsville Invitational

ZIONSVILLE -- Greencastle's wrestling squad competed in the Zionsville Eagle Invitational Saturday, coming away with four losses and one victory in team action.

Greencastle lost to Mooresville, Brownsburg, Center Grove and Crawfordsville through the first four rounds, but defeated the Owen Valley Patriots in the final round.

The Tiger Cubs had to forfeit three weight classes Saturday.

Chris Pingleton led the way for Greencastle, sporting a 5-0 record at 160 pounds.

Kyle Buchanan was 4-1 as well in the 189-pound division.

Michael Rumely went 2-3 at 189 pounds as did Tommy Downing at 125 pounds, Josh Guffey at 171 pounds and Nate Kelly at 103 pounds.

Nolan Lewis was 1-1 at 119 pounds while Kyle Johnson was 1-4 at 130 pounds. In addition, Logan Campbell was 1-4 at 140 pounds as was Andy Harrison in the heavyweight division.

At 160 pounds, Jacob Wright also picked up a victory.

The Tiger Cubs will compete in the Putnam County Tournament Thursday at Cloverdale.
