Venita G. Cooper

Venita G. Cooper, 76, Mitchell, died Wednesday at Dunn Memorial Hospital, Bedford.

Born in Bedford, she was the daughter of Henry and Thelma (Sutherland) Sons.

She retired from M. Fines and Sons Manufacturing in Bedford.

She married Earl Eugene Cooper on June 5, 1948. He preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 1986.

Survivors include daughters Cynthia "Cindy" Jones and husband Robert, Greencastle, and Lisa Moncel, Indianapolis; sister Wanda Martin, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and special friend Marjorie Elmore, Mitchell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Laernia Ernestine Barkman, Henrietta Ilean Sons, Virginia Fuche, Wilma Jean Sons, Carol Sue Melvin and Amelia Jo Sons, and brothers Darrell Dayton Sons and Wilbur Dean Sons.

Services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Haverly Chapel, Mitchell, with Rev. Mark Bechrel officiating. Burial will be at the Mitchell Cemetery.

Visitation is set for 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.
