Annual chamber dinner Jan. 27

The Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its annual dinner for Saturday, Jan. 27, at the DePauw University Indoor Tennis and Track Facility.

The event is set to start at 6 p.m. with the Randy Salmon Jazz Trio performing, sponsored by Duke Energy.

Tickets for the dinner will cost $30 per person. Table sponsors are also being sought for the dinner. For $35, chamber members can sponsor a table, which will include a centerpiece with an on-table acknowledgement and special thanks in the evening's program.

Drinks and appetizers, and bidding on a silent auction will also take place at this time. Photos will be taken by local photographer Amber Bowers.

The dinner is sponsored by North Salem State Bank and will be served at 7 p.m. by DePauw catering services.

Following dinner, the presentation of awards will take place, including the announcement of the 2006 Citizen of the Year and the Chamber's Director of the Year awards.

The evening will be capped with entertainment by comedian Marty Pollio, who appearance is sponsored by Old National Bank.

Pollio incorporates standup comedy, juggling and physical comedy tightly choreographed into his act. He has performed on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, as well as being on the show with Jay Leno. He has also appeared on the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon and Penn and Teller's "Sin City Spectacular."

He also appeared in the movie "Punchline," starring Tom Hanks and Sally Fields.
