Two visitors at the Putnamville Correctional Facility were arrested during the weekend for trafficking with inmates.

At 1 p.m. Saturday, Devin Lewis, 26, Indianapolis, was arrested by Indiana State Police for possession of marijuana, a class D felony.

While Lewis was visiting offender Robert Richardson, staff saw the two men switch tennis shoes. The shoes were confiscated by staff, who found about one-half ounce of marijuana and a pouch of tobacco inside each shoe.

Meanwhile, Kiara Tolliver, 25, Indianapolis, was arrested at 2 p.m. Sunday for possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and trafficking, all class D felonies.

Authorities state Tolliver was visiting offender Marcus Jackson, and admitted to giving the drugs to Jackson.

Both Lewis and Tolliver were taken to the Putnam County Jail where they were booked in to await their initial hearings.

"The Indiana Department of Correction is committed to a safe and drug-free environment for staff, visitors and offenders," said Commissioner J. David Donahue. "We will not tolerate illegal substances at any of our state facilities.
