Haltom putting up big numbers at Wabash

Cloverdale graduate Chase Haltom has been having a productive season with the Wabash College basketball team so far this year.

Haltom ranks second on the Little Giants' roster in points per game, averaging 13.9. He is one of four Wabash players averaging double digits in scoring.

The Wabash freshman scored just seven points in the Little Giants' 58-52 loss to Franklin on the road Monday, breaking a string of big games.

Haltom scored a season-high 22 points for Wabash Dec. 8 in an 83-51 win over UC-Clermont in Crawfordsville and scored 17 the next night in a 75-60 loss to Olivet Nazarine.

His most recent double-figures game was Dec. 16 on the road against Denison. Haltom scored 16 points in the Little Giants' 62-56 win.

Haltom is shooting 44.2 percent from the field, including 42.4 percent from behind the three-point line.

He also ranks second on the team in free-throw percentage, connecting on 88.9 percent of his attempts.

He is averaging 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game for the Little Giants (3-6).

Wabash will be in action again Friday, Dec. 29, in the Goaltenders-Bankers Classic at Franklin College.
