Wayne J. Helton

Wayne J. Helton, 68, Poland, died Friday at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born in Evanston, Ill., he was the son of Nathan and Julia (Czech) Helton.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he had been director of maintenance for Pierston Trucking Co., Wabash, and was of the Catholic faith.

He married Suzan George on Nov. 2, 1957. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Evanston, Ill.; daughter Carrie Fox and fiance Kyle Thompson, Bloomington; two sons, David Helton and wife Linda, and Mike Helton and wife Lana, all of Bloomington; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Visitation is 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday.
