Elizabeth A. McHugh McDonald, 70, Berne, N.Y., died Wednesday at her residence.

Born in Far Rockaway, Long Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late Philip Beck and Anna Wegman.

She and her family lived in Fillmore. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and was a volunteer with Cummins Mental Health. She also worked as an instructional assistant for special education children for five years.

She married John McHugh Sr., who preceded her in death. She married Olin McDonald in 2002 and moved to upstate New York.

Surviving are her husband, sons John McHugh and wife Phyllis, Indiana-polis, Charles McHugh and wife Pam, Beech Grove, and Michael McHugh and wife Ronda, Plainfield; daughter Susan Engel and husband Bill, Harrodsburg; four sisters, 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several step-children and step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, bother Bud Beck and daughter Becky McHugh Terrier.

A celebration of her life will take place Saturday, at Plainfield Christian Church with visitation from 11a.m.-1 p.m. and a memorial service at 1 p.m.
