Names of players shared

The list of names has been submitted for the photo of the 1931 Greencastle High School basketball team that a former Greencastle resident found in a Canadian yard sale.

Members of the state runner-up team, which ran on Page 4 of Wednesday's BannerGraphic are (front, from left) Rodney Godfrey, Noble Webb, Hershell Gross, Kenny Dawson, Marion Hurst, Tommy Stone (back row) Coach Bausman, Hank Stone, Jesse McAnally, Gib Hughes, Terrell Bolander and Manager Pat Cancilla.

Thanks to Jim Zeis, GHS Class of 1944, who submitted the info.

"Those were the days of the good old downtown gym!" Zeis wrote in an e-mail to news@bannergraphic.com.

The information has also been forwarded to our Canadian reader, Hal Jenner, now of Ottawa, Ontario and a GHS Class of 1970 graduate, who sent the photo back to Greencastle.
