Raymond Gerald Proctor

June 22, 1924-March 9, 2007

Raymond Gerald Proc-tor, 82, Greencastle, died Friday morning at Hendricks Regional Health, Danville.

Born in Putnam County, he was the son of Jasper E. and Stella A. (Lewallen) Proctor.

A 1942 graduate of Bainbridge High School, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII from 1943-45.

He was a lifelong farmer in Putnam County, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Bainbridge Lions Club, Bainbridge Christian Church and Greencastle American Legion Post 58.

He married Lulu B. (Lukenbill) Proctor on Oct. 10, 1949. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Rick Proctor and wife

Pam, Greencastle, and Gary Raymond Proctor and wife Susie, Coatesville; daughter Rita Anderson and husband Rusty, Greencastle; two brothers, Leo L. Proctor and wife Wilma, and Eldon Proctor, both of Greencastle; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ivan, Lewis and Edwin, sisters Elva Christie, Eula C. Esta C. and Mary Proctor.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Rusty Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Brick Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
