Ag Week events begin Tuesday at fairgrounds

Putnam County Ag Week 2007 is March 20, 21, 22.

The three-day celebration of our Ag Week promoting agriculture will begin with a breakfast kick off on Tuesday. Breakfast will be served from 6-7 a.m. followed by a program from 7-8 a.m.

Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a live animal display, educational tours, and hands-on activities for the fourth grade children at the Putnam County fairgrounds.

On Thursday, Ag Week will conclude with a Mini-Farm fest from 3-6:30 p.m. at the Putnam County fairgrounds in the commercial building. This event displays live animals in addition to local ag-related businesses and products. People are encouraged to come and learn about agriculture in a fun and educational environment.

The Mini Farm Fest is to inform those in attendance of the value and significance of agriculture both within Putnam County and broadly across Indiana. The overall goal is to share the value of agriculture and understand the issues with more knowledge and wisdom, so citizens can make better-informed decisions related to policy, health, diet and the environment. This year booth exhibitors have been given the opportunity to sell their Putnam County agricultural grown products.
