Miller no-hits Bethesda Christian, Cougars roll 36-0

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

Brownsburg -- Brook Miller no-hit Bethesda Christian and went 4-for-6 with a home run and a triple as North softball opened with a dominating win over a young Bethesda Christian squad, 36-0.

According to Coach George Pearson, a number of Bethesda Christian's older players were out due to a senior trip. He liked how his team played, but was not exactly excited about the final outcome.

"It wasn't the most exciting game in the world. You hate to do that to somebody," said Pearson.

Besides Miller's shot, Ashley Doyle hit two while Dakota Malayer added one of her own. As a team, the Cougars were 29-for-45 on the night.

"We hit the ball really well," said Pearson.

Pearson was happy for his team, but tempered his excitement due to the level of competition in the contest.

"It was a good warm up game. It beat practice," he said.

The Cougars take the field again after spring break, when they travel to Greencastle on April 2 at 5 p.m.
