John Robert Scatterday

July 9, 1925-March 23, 2007

John Robert Scatterday, 81, St. Charles, Ill., died Friday.

An Eagle Scout, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and graduated from DePauw University in 1950. He was a member of Delta Chi fraternity.

He was in management and sales for Standard Oil of Indiana, Statistical Tab, First Girl and Lighting Maintenance. He served in Kiwanis and Boy Scouts for more than 35 years.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Virginia (Kraft) Scatterday; children Ann Peterselli of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Dave Scatterday and wife Martha, Geneva, Ill., Doug Scatterday and wife Alayne, Aurora, Ill., and Carol Scatterday, North Aurora, Ill.; brother Richard Scatterday, Battle Creek, Mich.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and a nephew.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Geneva United Methodist Church, Ill.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
