Mildred L. Hipps

Mildred L. Hipps, 89, Cloverdale, died Tuesday at Putnam County Hospital.

Born in Poland, she was the daughter of James Robert and Alta Irene (Hassler) Nees.

She was a homemaker, had been employed at Mallory in Greencastle, and was a member of Cloverdale Church of the Nazarene.

She married James W. Hipps on Sept. 8, 1944. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann Barrett and husband Wendall, Indianapolis, and Sharon Freeman and husband Ronald A., Cloverdale; two sons, Robert J. Hipps and wife Barbara, Platte, Mo., and George Hipps and wife Joyce, Quincy; seven grandchidren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother D. Robert Nees.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Rev. Ross Kirkman officiating.

Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday.
