Duane Durwood Daniel, 82, Coatesville, died Tuesday at his residence.

Born in Indianapolis, he was the son of Oscar Randolph and Edith (Schultz) Daniel.

A graduate of Tech High School and Indiana-polis Business College in Indianapolis, he also attended Butler University and earned a master's degree from Purdue University. He retired in 1984 from RCA in Indianapolis where he was manager of graphic arts. After retirement, he had worked at the NAPA auto parts store in Coatesville making deliveries, for a short time with the Putnam County Treasurer's Office, and for H&R Block in Greencastle. He had previously taught English for the Indianapolis Public Schools, Speckler Myers and a moving company in Indianapolis.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge 669 in Indianapolis where he played organ. He was also a member of York Rite, Scottish Rite, a past Master Mason and secretary for Coatesville Lodge 695. He was a guardian for Jobs Daughters 106 in Bainbridge and a King Solemn.

He married Margaret Hance on July 3, 1948. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Gail Rosalyn Daniel, Coates-ville, and Claudia Gretchen Hinderliter and husband David, Greencastle; son Oscar Daniel II, Coatesville; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Randolph Daniel and Oscar Randolph Daniel I.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Greencastle, with burial to follow at Coatesville Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday with Masonic rites at 7 p.m.
