In a game originally slated for the second day of the season, the South Putnam and Cloverdale softball teams were finally able to play their second match up of the season. Once again, the Eagles got the better of the Clovers, 4-0, at South Putnam Wednesday evening.

South Putnam moved its record to 11-4 overall and 8-2 in the WCC. Cloverdale is now 3-15 and 2-8 in conference.

Hannah Ames' third-inning double set up the game's first score. The Eagles big scoring inning was the sixth. Samantha Tomasino's triple drove in two, then Megan Robinson's single drove in Tomasino.

Oceaia Boetjer went the distance for the win, striking out seven Clovers. She allowed only four hits and no walks.

For the Clovers, Jennifer Wiley also pitched the complete game. She struck out four Eagles while allowing seven hits and six walks.

"(We) played decent defense, but couldn't put together hits and runs," said Cloverdale coach Greg Crum.

Martika Byrd had two of the Clovers' four hits.
