Helen May Rising

Helen May Rising, 93, Greencastle, died Thursday at her residence.

Born in Putnamville, she was the daughter of Edward and Lillie May Edwards Lee.

She was employed by RCA in Indianapolis for seven-and-a-half years and retired from IBM in Greencastle after 23 years of service.

She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.

Survivors include grandchildren Terry Rising, Putnam County, Carol Hayes and husband David, Greencastle, Thomas Rising and wife Nana, Fillmore, Paul Rising and wife Susan, Greencastle, and Sherry Hanley, Cloverdale; 11 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, three nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Thomas Rising, sons Thomas L. Rising and Jack E. Rising, and siblings Daniel, Mary, Madonna, Edward, James, Eugene, Walter and Charles.

Services will take place at 1 p.m. Monday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Chaplain Dave Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
