Bondi wins a championship for second time this year

Fredericksburg, Va. -- DePauw senior Liz Bondi ended her collegiate career by winning the University's first individual tennis title as she defeated defending champ Emily Applegate of Washington & Lee in the NCAA Division III singles final 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (7-3).
Bondi became only the fourth DePauw student-athlete to earn an individual national title.
In March, Bondi was named the most outstanding player of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship after helping lead the Tigers to the first national championship in school history.
Bondi found herself in the finals after she defeated Middlebury's Amy Roche, 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinals and a win over Pomona-Pitzer's Siobhan Finicane, 6-3, 6-3 in the semifinal.

Webeler falls in final
DePauw senior Evan Webeler advanced to the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships singles semifinals following a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over Andy Bryan of Gustavus Adolphus.
In the final, Webeler fell to John Watts of Washington University following a 6-2, 6-2 loss.
In the Division III doubles quarterfinals, Webeler and Scott Swanson lost to Kevin Bergesen and Andrew Thompson of Middlebury by scores of 6-3, 6-1.
DPU tennis rakes in awards
Two DePauw seniors were named the SCAC Players of the Year on Saturday and the men's head coach was named Coach of the Year.
Senior Evan Webeler and head coach Tom Cath took top honors in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in voting by the conference's 11 coaches.
Webeler was named the SCAC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season and improved his singles record this season to 30-5 after advancing to the national quarterfinals.
Joining Webeler on the all-SCAC team was Kortney Keith and Bryan Heck earned honorable mention.
In 22 seasons with the Tigers, Cath has posted a career record of 333-154. This past season, Cath led the Tigers to a record 22 wins.
Cath has earned SCAC Coach of the Year honors two out of the last three years
Senior Liz Bondi earned the SCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Year honors for the third straight year.
Joining Bondi on the all-SCAC team were Amrita Padd and Greer Mackie.
Bondi also earned top honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as the organization named her the Division III Senior of the Year.
A three-time Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and four-time all-American in both singles and doubles, Bondi is playing today in the Division III singles quarterfinals after winning a pair of matches during Friday's opening rounds.
