Staff reports

The four Putnam County softball coaches have selected their 2007 All-County Team as well as the 2007 Putnam County Player of the Year.

The coaches' 2007 Putnam County Player of the Year is North Putnam senior Brook Miller. Miller was the Cougars' only pitcher for the bulk of the year, getting the decision in all but two of North's games. She compiled a 17-7 record while recording 170 strikeouts. Her 0.40 ERA was easily the lowest in the county. Miller's .538 batting average also led the county. Her five home runs were also tops.

Joining Miller on the team are two of her senior teammates in shortstop Chelsea Greene and first baseman Alyssa Simpson.

South Putnam leads the county in representatives with four. Two Eagle seniors, outfielder Megan Robinson and third baseman Hannah Ames are joined by junior catcher Meghan Canary and sophomore shortstop Oceaia Boetjer.

Cloverdale has two representatives in senior catcher Hannah Monnett and junior outfielder Chelsie Haltom.

Greencastle's representative, senior catcher Tabitha Wilson, rounds out the list.
