Katherine LaVaughn (Scobee) Beam

Katherine LaVaughn (Scobee) Beam, 87, Jamestown, died Sunday.

Born in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Earl and Alta Scobee.

She married Ralph Beam on Sept. 20, 1941 at First Christian Church in Greencastle. He survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Walter Beam and wife Janet, Jamestown, Donald Beam, Ladoga, Richard Beam and wife Ginger, Jamestown; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brother Robert Scobee and sister Marguerite Scobee Neff.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, with Rev. Brent Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday.
