Jana Grimes, a longtime resident and Greencastle native, is the new Director of Human Resources at DePauw University.

She returns to her home community to work after 12 years at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, where she was Assistant Director of Human Resources.

"Jana is respected in her field and very well-known and liked in the Greencastle community, so this is a perfect fit," says Dick Speller, DePauw's Vice President for Finance. "This is one of those occasions where we were able to find the ideal candidate for a position right in our own backyard, so to speak. Jana brings tremendous talents and energy to DePauw, and we're thrilled to welcome her to the University."

Grimes worked at Rose-Hulman from 1995 until joining the DePauw staff this summer. She holds a master's degree in Human Resource Development from Indiana State University and is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR).

Active in community and professional organizations, Jana Grimes served as president of the board of directors of Leadership Wabash Valley, and is a member of College and University Professional Association (CUPA) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

DePauw University, founded in 1837 by leaders of the Methodist Church, is a nationally recognized liberal arts college. DePauw provides more than $176 million in benefits to Greencastle and surrounding communities on an annual basis and its activities create jobs that employ 2,335 people, according to a 2005 independent economic impact study. The Louisville, Kentucky-based EconImpact performed a comprehensive review of the University over the 2003-04 academic year. The findings show that one dollar of every $10 in business spending in Greencastle is generated by DePauw; the ratio is 1 to 12 for all of Putnam County.
