GHS runners fourth at Hokum Karem

DANVILLE -- Under sloppy conditions, the Greencastle girls' competed in the Hokum Karem at Danville Saturday. The GHS runners finished in fourth place out of 10 teams with an overall time of 2:12.49.

"There was some uncertainty with several of the girls not knowing what to expect with the first meet and then to add this the rain and the slippery footing," GHS head coach Garry Anderson said.

The team of Hannah Serlin and Kaitlyn Murtagh finished in fourth--place with a time of 41:05, while Laura Weatherford and Ivonne Martinez placed16th with a time of 44:06 and the team of Sara Culler and Jessica Brown finished in 28th place in a time of 47:38.

"The team finished 4th overall and we were pleased to finish so well," Anderson commented.

The GHS girls will compete in the Eagle Medley at South Putnam at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
