Cougars find stride, beat Eels

EMINENCE --Another big assist night from Kacy Wendling and Taylor Alles' presence at the net, helped the North Putnam Cougar volleyball team defeat Eminence on the road Tuesday night. The Cougars won 25-21, 25-18, 23-25 and 25-13.

On the night, Wendling recorded 18 assists along with five kills, two digs and a solo block. Alles had 10 kills, six digs, five solo blocks and one ace.

Logan Doyle also had a good night, recording eight kills, five digs, two assists and three aces, while Ashley Doyle had two kills, nine digs, one assist and one ace.

Senior Kayla Green contributed three kills, two digs and two aces to the Cougar attack. Carlye McGaughey had three kills, three digs and one assist on the night with Tippany Tippin adding four kills.

"We're starting to get on a roll, but I know we will have to play better in order to win our upcoming matches," Cougar coach Michelle Spencer said. "We are playing as a team, and have a lot of talent.

"All we need to do now is eliminate some of the errors, and then we will be a very well-rounded team," she added.

The junior varsity lost 24-25 and 23-25.

The Cougars will travel to South Putnam at 6 p.m. Thursday.
