Tiger Cubs down Braves

The Greencastle boys soccer team improved to 3-2 on the season with a 1-0 win over the visiting Terre Haute South Braves Tuesday night.

The game was scoreless for 78 minutes until Greencastle's Eric Davis powered a kick past the Braves' keeper to give the Tiger Cubs their lone point of the night.

The Tiger Cubs Ryan Payne earned his second shutout of the season in the win.

The junior varsity won 2-0.

"These were of couple of really big wins for us tonight," head coach David Lilly said. "We finally put together solid defensive efforts for the full match and earned shut out victories against tough competition.

"It is always challenging when we play Terre Haute teams," Lilly added.

Greencastle will host Southmont at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
