Wednesday, August 29, 2007

The Greencastle girls' soccer team stormed into Wildcat country and handed South Vermillion a 10-0 loss Tuesday night.

The game started with Greencastle's senior Samantha Sillery scoring her first ever Varsity goal. Laura English continued the Tiger Cubs assault. Jamie Patterson scored from an assist by Hannah Deer and then Laura English scored another goal with an assist from Hannah Spencer.

These goals were followed by goals from Erica Soster and a goal by Whitney Brotherton.

The final two goals of the first half were scored by Whitney Brotherton with an assist from Grace Fisher. Fisher scored herself on an unassisted goal.

In the second half, Whitney Brotherton scored her third goal of the night, as did Laura English.

"The girls played well for the heat and the amount of subs that were made.," GHS head coach Maurice McKee said. "We tried a few new plays to see what the affects were and we are still evaluating them."

The Tiger Cubs will host Terre Haute North at 7 p.m. Thursday night.
