Daniel B. Wawrzyniak

Daniel B. Wawrzyniak, 78, Lebanon, died Sunday morning at Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana.

Born in St. Joseph County, he was the son of Bert and Celia Wawrzyniak.

He graduated from Central Catholic High School in South Bend and Purdue University. He served in the Army ROTC and was a pitcher for the Boilermaker baseball team. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea, and worked 42 years at United Feeds in Sheridan.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Ulen Country Club, Boone County Pork Producers Association, Purdue Ag Alumni Association, Boone County Purdue Alumni Club and John Purdue Club.

He married Lucille Marie Kappmeyer on April 18, 1953 in Indianapolis. They moved to Lebanon in 1956. She died May 20, 1986.

He married Maxine Blanton on Feb. 14, 1987. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, Anne M. Gutierrez and husband Guillermo, San Antonio, Texas, and Michael J. Wawrzyniak and wife Lynn, Cary, N.C.; four stepsons, Dave Roseboom and wife Shirley, Indianapolis, Rick Roseboom and wife Daphnee, Lizton, Dean Roseboom and wife Cindy, Danville, and Rex Roseboom and wife Pat, Danville; three brothers, Richard Wawrzyniak and wife Jean, Indianapolis, Robert Wawrzyniak and wife Lavern, New Albany, and Raymond Wawrzyn-iak, Forest Park, Ill.; four grandchildren, several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by daughter Mary Wawrzyniak.
