GHS swimming drops a pair to Terre Haute South

TERRE HAUTE -- The Greencastle Tiger Sharks traveled to Terre Haute South Tuesday, where they fell to Braves in both meets.

The GHS girls lost 128-58. Erica Soster picked up the Lady Tiger Sharks only win on the evening, taking the 100 freestyle in 59.34.

GHS picked up a number of second-place finishes on the night, including both the medley and 200 freestyle relay. Individually, Melissa Ball picked up seconds in the 200 IM (2:30.87) and 100 butterfly (1:07.72). Morgan Terry also had a pair of second-places in the 200 freestyle (2:15.97) and 500 freestyle (5:55.31).

Soster placed second in the 50 free with a 27.36 and Sarah Land was second in diving with 143.95 points.

On the boys' side, the Tiger Sharks fell 112-74.

Luke Crimmins picked up the only two wins on the evening, with a 23.80 in the 50 freestyle and a 58.74 in the 100 backstroke.

GHS was second in all three relays and place second in five individual events. Austin Woodall placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:59.00) and Miles Salman was second in the 200 IM (2:19.73).

Anthony Paul placed second in diving (145.85), Nick Stevens in the 500 freestyle (5:27.62) and Ryan Payne in the 100 backstroke (1:08.34).

The Tiger Shark boys visit South Putnam at 6 p.m. today, while both teams are back in action at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4 at Bloomington North.
